Rain delays start of second day of England v Sri Lanka test

MANCHESTER, England : Light rain delayed the start of play on the second day of the first test match between England and Sri Lanka at Old Trafford on Thursday, with the hosts trailing by 214 runs after bowling out their opponents for 236 on day one.

The outlook for the rest of the day is promising, with Britain's Met Office predicting low chances of precipitation after 1300 BST (1200 GMT).

Dan Lawrence (9) and Ben Duckett (13) will resume the innings, with England on 22/0 after four overs.
