Rain calls halt to Ireland's Zimbabwe ODI series

Ireland's final one-day international against Zimbabwe was abandoned due to rain in Harare.

Zimbabwe won the toss and had reached 55 for 1 in the 13th over when the rain arrived.

With no result being declared, the three match series ended level at 1-1, with Ireland's Harry Tector named Player of the Series.

"We have been fortunate to play decent one-day international cricket over the last while and it was good to continue that here," said Tector.

"It was a tough competitive series, both in the T20 and one-day games, and we have a great relationship with Zimbabwe Cricket so long may that continue."

Meanwhile, it has been announced that the Ireland men's cricket team will play its first Test match in over three years as part of its seven-match, multi-format tour of Bangladesh that was confirmed on Monday.

The month-long tour will feature a warm-up fixture on 15 March against a yet-to-be confirmed opponent, then three one-day internationals, three T20 Internationals and the Test Match. This will be the first ever Test Match played between the two sides, and the first multi-format series the two sides have played at senior level.

The squad will depart Dublin on 11 March.

In South Africa, the Irish women's team lost to Pakistan in their Super Six game at the Under-19s World Cup, ending their involvement in the tournament.

Ireland batted, making 113 for 7 off their 20 overs, as Annabel Squires top-scored on 55 not out.

Pakistan made the total with 15 balls to spare.
