Rail lines closed and police called as person hit by train in Cardiff – updates
Police have been pictured close to a Cardiff park after a person was reportedly hit by a train. There are a number of emergency services at the scene. The incident is reported to have happened near the pedestrian railway crossing at Caedelyn Park that connects Whitchurch with Rhiwbina.
A National Rail spokesman said: "A person hit by a train between Heath Low Level and Coryton means that all lines are closed whilst the emergency services deal with the incident. Trains will be cancelled." A Welsh Ambulance Service Trust spokesman confirmed they had been called at 1.42pm and said the incident was ongoing.
One witness at the scene said it happened just before 2pm and said there were a large number of emergency services in the area. They added that the pedestrian crossing and alleyway that leads from Pen y Dre in Rhiwbina to the park had been closed off by police.
