Rafael Nadal shot at French Open vs Alexander Zverev was extraordinary

Rafael Nadal is easily the greatest of all time when it comes to the clay courts, with his quest for a 14th title at the French Open approaching the climax.

He is currently taking on third seed Alexander Zverev at Roland Garros, winning the opening set in dramatic fashion.

The Spaniard was facing set point against his German opponent in the tiebreak of the opening set in their semi-final, before he produced a moment of brilliance.

Nadal was 6-4 down in the tiebreak, with Zverev serving for the set. He had the 13-time champion on the ropes.

He looked destined to win the point when Nadal was sent well wide of the court to the right, returning a backhand tamely for Zverev to find the set winning shot.

That looked to have been found, with Nadal having to run right across the court, just about reaching the ball and delivering a fierce forehand.

His stroke was well beyond the German, who had closed up to the net expecting an easy smash to win the set.
