Radrizzani buzzing on Twitter as 'very good' Leeds player now back for Marsch before Leicester
Leeds United chairman and majority shareholder Andrea Radrizzani has been reacting to news of Sam Greenwood’s return from injury on Twitter.
Greenwood had been out of action since January after suffering a knee injury during his first senior start for the Whites against West Ham. The 20-year-old had to make way at half-time in the FA Cup clash and required surgery five days later.
He has now made a full return though, scoring from the penalty spot for the Under-23s in a 1-1 draw with Spurs at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday evening.
Radrizzani took to Twitter to reply to a post welcoming Greenwood back from injury.
The Whites chairman posted a flexed bicep emoji with the words ‘back scoring’ – seemingly delighted at the forward’s return.
New manager Jesse Marsch may well go with two strikers in a 4-2-2-2 system compared to Marcelo Bielsa’s one in his 4-1-4-1 formation, meaning Greenwood could be in line for more game time, especially with Patrick Bamford still out through injury.
Labelled as ‘very good’ by Ken Gillard during his time at Arsenal, Greenwood has scored 21 times in 35 appearances for the Under-23s, so you’d expect he’ll be a player Marsch will want to have a good look at.
Fellow young striker Joe Gelhardt could also feature more regularly, with Marsch building up an excellent reputation for developing youngsters throughout his brief coaching career.
