Since the turn of the century, Portsmouth have experienced a rollercoaster of emotions in the Football League.

Throughout this particular period, Pompey have been able to call upon a host of classy operators who have since gone on to feature for a variety of English-based clubs.

Jermain Defoe scored 18 occasions in 36 appearances for Portsmouth before moving on to pastures new in 2009 whilst Jed Wallace, Matt Clarke and Jamal Lowe all managed to illustrate real signs of promise in their respective spells at Fratton Park.
