Kamaru Usman doesn't want to fight Khamzat Chimaev, according to Brendan Schaub

Kamaru Usman doesn’t want to fight rising UFC star Khamzat Chimaev – despite recently admitting ‘we’ll have that conversation’ when the time is right.

That’s according to former UFC heavyweight and stand-up comedian Brendan Schaub.

The Nigerian Nightmare, 35, retained his UFC welterweight title for the fifth time of asking at UFC 268 with a thrilling five-round battle with bitter rival Colby Covington back in November of last year.

He is next expected to defend his belt against Leon Edwards at a location and date to be determined later this summer.

Meanwhile Chimaev is preparing to face former UFC title challenger Gilbert Burns on April 9.

But Schaub doesn’t think Burns stands a chance against Chimaev, who has won all ten of his professional bouts, with six knockouts and four submissions.

On ‘The Schaub Show‘ podcast, he said: “Nobody wants to fight Khamzat, I don’t think Kamaru Usman does.

“It’s undeniable, it’s scary and we’re going to get a lot of answers when he fights Gilbert Burns.

“I have a good idea that that’s not going to go great for Gilbert Burns. That Khamzat train’s coming. I don’t see anybody beating him.

Chimaev, 27, is currently training alongside Darren Till and Alexander Gustafsson at AllStars Training Centre in Sweden.

And British MMA legend Michael Bisping revealed that he has been ‘hearing things about Khamzat that are truly terrifying’.

Bisping said via his YouTube channel: “I am hearing things about Khamzat that are truly terrifying. As I said, Darren Till is out there. I’ve got a bunch of friends out there in Sweden.

“They’re filming, Blockasset is a company that
