Quenton Nelson: Colts show off guard's insane athleticism on social media

The Indianapolis Colts have shared a video on social media showing offensive lineman Quenton Nelson pulling off an incredible slam dunk.

Quenton Nelson is just about as reliable an athlete as you can get in the National Football League. The Indianapolis Colts selected him with the 6th pick in the 2018 draft and whilst it might not always seem fashionable to take an offensive lineman that early, he has more than proved his worth.

He has missed just four games so far in his NFL career, those all coming last season when he suffered a high ankle sprain during week 3 that caused him to miss a few games, but when healthy he is an incredible force when it comes to protecting the quarterback, whoever that might be given the Colts’ constant carousel under centre.

According to PFF, he has only allowed four sacks in his NFL career so far, this despite playing 4,029 snaps for the Colts, which has played a major part in him being named to all 4 Pro Bowls since he was drafted on top of 3 First-team All-Pro honours and one Second-team All-Pro shout.

The Colts as an organisation are well aware of how important he is to the franchise, which is why they are never shy about showing him off, just as they did last night whilst the NBA Draft was taking place.

The Indiana Pacers, who also play in Indianapolis, announced that they were taking Bennedict Mathurin with the #6 pick in the draft, the same number as Nelson. Mathurin is also a guard, although the names mean totally different things in the two sports, and the Colts, like many NFL teams did last night, welcomed the new man to the city with a tweet:

Picking a guard at 6 has worked out pretty well for us.
