QPR and Middlesbrough rival Sunderland for Tottenham player

The pair have joined Sunderland in making Tottenham Hotspur an offer to sign the forward this summer.

The Irishman has been in South Korea with Spurs as part of Antonio Conte’s pre-season plans.

However, the Premier League side are expected to sanction a loan deal for the Irishman in the coming days.

Parrott is not part of the Italians plans for the upcoming campaign, so he will be sent out to a Championship side in order to gain further experience of first team football.

The 20-year old went out on loan to MK Dons last season, where he helped the side earn a 3rd place finish in League One.

In that time he contributed eight goals and seven assists in the team in an impressive second half of the campaign.

Parrott has also earned his breakthrough into the Ireland team, scoring his first competitive goal for his country against Scotland earlier this summer.

It remains unclear what his next destination will be, but the three sides are competing fiercely in order to sign the striker.

Parrott is certainly an exceptional talent and if he can continue his recent trajectory then he could make for an excellent signing.

Boro and QPR may be the more exciting prospects due to the expectation that both will continue to compete at the top of the Championship table.

There is a little more uncertainty over where Sunderland will be looking to finish this season, but the addition of Parrott could help them achieve similar goals.

However, the onus should be on the forward to target the club most likely to give him ample playing time, as that is the most crucial aspect of his development that he needs to focus on presently.
