Pundit reveals reason why Swansea City's Joel Piroe is 'one of the best' strikers in Championship

Joel Piroe took his Swansea City goal tally to 17 for the season with his injury-time winner at Peterborough United.

Michael Obafemi completed his brace to get Swansea City back on level terms, after Sammie Szmodics and Jack Marriott both struck to put the Posh in front early on in the second-half, having fallen behind late on in the opening 45.

But Piroe rifled beyond Dai Cornell in the second minute of added time at the Weston Homes Stadium to earn Russell Martin's men all three points in Cambridgeshire.

Speaking in his analysis of the match, pundit Sam Parkin described Piroe as "one of the best" in the league when it came to converting chances.

"I thought Swansea controlled the first half, they were streets ahead of Peterborough," Parkin said on EFL on Quest.

"Peterborough rallied brilliantly in the second period. I thought [Ricky-Jade] Jones gave them a real threat going forward. That kind of diminished when he went off, even though Marriott got his goal.

"Obafemi, a couple of really smart finishes, and Piroe, one of the best in the Championship in this type of situation, coolness in his veins throughout the season. Lovely finish."

Swansea return to action against Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon.
