Pundit makes transfer claim involving West Brom and West Ham

Former Tottenham Hotspur and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has told Football Insider that West Ham United signing Sam Johnstone from West Bromwich Albion seems like a no brainer.

The England shot stopper is set to see his contract with the Baggies expire this coming summer and has made no secret of the fact that he is keen on a return to the Premier League as he seeks to keep his place in the national team.

West Ham are one of several top flight clubs that have been linked with the 28-year-old, who is almost certain to leave the Hawthorns after falling out with sections of the hierarchy at the Black County outfit.

Now Robinson has had his say on the situation, as he made the following claim over West Ham’s interest:

“He’s in a strong position at the moment. It would be a no brainer for West Ham. He is a top goalkeeper and on a free it is a more attractive proposition than signing Areola.”

Johnstone has still remained his professionalism for the Baggies this term and has featured regularly as they seek to get promoted back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

However it seems he is set to move on for a new challenge once this season is done and dusted.

The Verdict

West Brom fans will probably be getting more and more annoyed by the fact that Johnstone is linked with a move almost everyday at present.

It would be best for everyone involved at this point if he moves on and it is fair to assume that he will do just that in the long run.

His time at the club has come to a natural conclusion and now the situation is just being longed out.

It is fair to assume most fans of the Baggies will be pleased to see this saga end.
