Pundit identifies Raheem Sterling quality which has sparked top Man City form

Manchester City have been told it is no fluke Raheem Sterling has totted up such incredible numbers for the club - and keeps on doing so.

Cast aside by Pep Guardiola either side of his Euro 2020 heroics, the England forward has once again emerged as a stand-out for the Premier League champions this season.

Despite signing £100million man Jack Grealish from Aston Villa last summer, City were unable to recruit a genuine replacement for Sergio Aguero and added onus was, in turn, placed on Sterling and the other attacking players to make up for those lost goals.

Back in the starting XI, the 27-year-old has contributed more than his fair share in that respect.

Sterling netted his eighth, ninth and tenth goals of this Premier League season against Norwich; making it 126 from 322 games in all competitions for the club.

The former Liverpool man has also laid on 90 assists in that time.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, former Premier League goalkeeper David Seaman said: "Watching him all through his career I've never underrated him.

"He's gone through a lot and he's proved a lot. He keeps producing. He produced in the Euros, massively, and now he's doing it with his club. It's great to see.

"A lot of the goals he gets are tap-ins. One [against Norwich] he gets a little bit lucky with a deflection - and he also had chances before that. [But that's because] He's always in and around that six-yard box."
