Punchestown Festival LIVE plus horse racing results from Ayr, Brighton, Nottingham and Yarmouth

Just when you think the jumps season is done for another year in rolls day one of Punchestown Festival with three Grade One races and four different Cheltenham Festival winners lining up against each other.

We’ll be covering every day of the Punchestown Festival starting with today’s blockbuster. Willie Mullins holds many of the cards again as he pitches his emphatic Ballymore Hurdle winner Sir Gerhard against his free-running Supreme Novices’ faller Dysart Dynamo in the Bective Grade One Champion Novices Hurdle (4.15).

This is before the grandstand clash between Mullins’ two great speed chasers - Champion Chase winner Energumene and multiple Grade One hero Chacun Pour Soi - in the William Hill Champion Chase (Grade One) at 5.25, a race which also throws in smart performers Envoi Allen, Captain Guinness and Andy Dufresne.

Also get set to see Bob Olinger tackle three miles for the first time in the Dooley Insurance Group Champion Novices’ Chase (Grade One) at 6.35. It seems ludicrous to say a dual Cheltenham Festival winner has anything to prove but Henry De Bromhead’s charge was set to be thumped in some style by Galopin Des Champs in the Turners’ Novices’ Chase at the Festival last month when that one capsized when well clear at the final fence.

We’ll cover all the other racing from Punchestown as well as keeping you to date with all the Guineas news for this weekend and all the tips and horse racing results from our own UK meetings at Nottingham, Brighton, Yarmouth and Ayr .

You can follow every furlong right here in our LIVE blog today and the rest of this week.
