PSG's Kheira Hamraoui tells of death threats as ex-teammate charged over attack

PSG star Kheira Hamraoui has told of the death threats she received in the aftermath of a brutal attack in November.

Hamraoui was dragged from a car by two masked men and beaten with a metal bar, with the injuries to her hands and legs requiring stitches.

The 32-year-old was being driven home from a PSG-organised dinner by her teammate Aminata Diallo, who was originally taken into custody but released without charges.

Diallo has now been re-arrested and issued with preliminary charges of “aggravated violence”.

The development came after four men were arrested in connection with the assault on Hamraoui, all of which reportedly named Diallo as the instigator.

Accompanied by shocking images of her injuries, Hamraoui posted on Twitter about the horrific attack.

“I will never forget that night of Nov. 4, 2021. It haunts me night and day. That dark night changed my personal and professional life, my life as a woman and as a footballer player.

“That sad night when I thought I was going to die when two hooded men forced me to get out of the car. They pummelled me with iron bars, essentially aiming for my lower body.

“Their objective was simple that night: to violently take my work tool by breaking my legs and ending my career.”

Hamraoui then opened up about the social media abuse she had received after the attack, sparked by a “surprising media cabal with the aim of tarnishing my image and my private life”.

“For long months after the assault, I was unfairly insulted on the pitch, harassed on social networks and had my life threatened. Nevertheless, I held on with all my strength to my passion and to stay professional.

“Today I trust in the justice system for the truth to all come out and for my honour
