PS5: Leak claims Sony are planning to release PS5 Pro Controller

Sony is reportedly preparing to announce a number of new hardware products including a “genuine professional controller”, according to a new report from Try Hard Guides and industry insider Tom Henderson.

The codename for the controller is said to be “Hunt” and it is said to feature a number of unique features.

That includes removable analog sticks, trigger stops and rear buttons.

Henderson claims to have seen pictures of the controller, but has been asked that they not be published for the public.

He maintains that the controller maintains the PS5 style, but gives users the options to both remove and reassign analog sticks, which may hint at a fix for stick drift, allowing players to merely buy a new stick instead of a new controller.

It also features trigger stops at the back of the controller, much like units developed by Scuf, which are unofficial developers of hardware for the PS5.

There are said to be grips for the controller as well that are fully removable as well.

It is not clear what colour the console is, but the standard PS5 controller is white, and there have been a variety of new colours added since the initial release of the console.

Sony is poised to unveil a number of new pieces of hardware at the end of June, but Henderson insists that does not include any kind of new console. There have been rumours of a PS5 slim ever since the first console hit shelves but it does not seem that there will be an announcement to that end this month.

It remains to be seen exactly when Sony are set to unveil their new hardware but we’ll keep a close eye on things and let you know as soon as the pieces drop.
