Proteas to face New Zealand in T20 World Cup final as Windies beaten in Sharjah

New Zealand will face the Proteas in the final of the T20 World Cup after they beat the West Indies by 8 runs in the second semi-final played in Sharjah on Friday.

Batting first, New Zealand posted 128/9 in their 20 overs as Georgia Plimmer top scored with 33 off 31 while fellow opener Suzie Bates made 26 off 28.

Deandre Dottin was the pick of the West Indies bowlers as she finished with 4/22 in 4 overs.

The West Indies struggled in their reply as New Zealand kept things tight. They were behind the required run rate earlier and lost wickets at regular intervals.

Eden Carson, who picked up the player of the match award, was the best bowler for New Zealand as she finished with 3/29 in her four overs.

Sunday's final takes place at 16:00 (SA time).
