Proteas seamer Williams joins Northamptonshire for rest of County Championship
Proteas fast bowler Lizaad Williams has joined Northamptonshire for the remainder of the County Championship season.
Williams, who has played 2 Tests, an ODI and six T20Is for South Africa, will be available for the club's final four County Championship games.
"I'm looking forward to joining up with the squad and to hit the ground running," said Williams in a press statement.
"The team is in a strong position in the County Championship and I hope I can contribute towards some positive results in the upcoming games."
In line to become first-class cricketer number 537 for the county, Williams already holds connections to Wantage Road with former Western Province teammates part
"I've been following the team since two former teammates of mine in Rory Kleinveldt and Richard Levi plied their trade for Northamptonshire," continued Williams.
"I've played with Vasconcelos and Glover down in Cape Town too so I'm looking forward to seeing them again."

Northamptonshire bowling coach Chris Liddle was delighted to add Williams to the pace attack.
"It's great to have Lizaad with us until the end of the season, we know it’s going to be four very competitive games coming up and to have Lizaad here with his test match experience and class is great for us," Liddle said.
"We're really looking forward to watching him go about his work and how he'll complement the bowling attack we have here."
Williams arrives in the UK this week ahead of Northamptonshire's upcoming County Championship fixture against Hampshire on Monday.
Northamptonshire are currently fifth on the County Championship table.
