Proteas finish Netball World Cup sixth after bitter Uganda loss
The Proteas could not end their Netball World Cup campaign on a high as they lost to a spirited Uganda team in the fifth-sixth playoff at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) on Friday.

At a vocal and vibrant CTICC, the Proteas struggled to catch up against a fiery Ugandan outfit as they lost 47-49.
It was an shaky first quarter for the hosts, with Uganda dominating possession throughout most of the game.
Uganda's Mary Cholhok and Shadiah Nassanga kept getting passes through the otherwise solid South African defense.
It was a tense and physical quarter as saw the Proteas trailing by one as Uganda led 11-12.
Another demanding quarter saw the Proteas claw their way back to level proceedings at half-time at 23-all.
In the third quarter, Uganda fought back as they incepted countless loose balls. It became a somewhat messy third quarter, as South Africa trailed 37-39.
Trailing by two, the Proteas couldn't comprehend with a Uganda outfit and had to settle for sixth in the Netball World Cup.
Elmeré van der Berg scored 36 goals in 43 attempts, while Nichole Taljaard scored 11 in 13 attempts.
