"Probably his time done" - Journalist makes major claim over £120k-p/w Everton star

Everton could ‘let Allan go’ in the upcoming summer transfer window as he’s ‘made no noises’ about signing a new contract, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

The 31-year-old arrived at Goodison Park from Napoli back in September 2020 via a £21.7 million deal but has perhaps failed to have the desired impact in that time.

Allan joined Everton alongside Abdoulaye Doucoure, James Rodriguez and Ben Godfrey under the tutelage of former manager Carlo Ancelotti in what was seen as an exciting set of signings at the time.

But despite a promising start to last season, the new additions could only guide the Toffees to a midtable finish, and the sudden departure of Ancelotti had a devastating impact.

Everton have been embroiled in a relegation battle for the majority of the current campaign after things quickly turned sour following Rafa Benitez’s appointment, with Allan unable to drag his side up the table.

The 10-cap Brazil international has started 24 Premier League games this term, yet his underlying numbers indicate his performance levels have been sub-par.

As per WhoScored, Allan – who earns £120,000-per-week – has been awarded a season rating of just 6.51, the joint 16th lowest total amongst the Everton first-team squad.

Allan’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2023, meaning the upcoming window may be the last opportunity for Everton’s hierarchy to recoup some of their substantial outlay.

He told GiveMeSport: “It sounds like they’ll let Allan go. He’s got one year left and has
