Prince William is visiting Cardiff today for a seaweed event
The Prince of Wales is en route to a university in Cardiff to attend an event celebrating the Welsh seaweed industry, Kensington Palace has confirmed. A photo was shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales' official Twitter account showing Prince William sitting on a Great Western Railway train just before 12.45pm on Tuesday, June 11.
It was posted along with the caption: "En route to Cardiff today to celebrate seaweed innovation!" According to reports, William is on his way to Cardiff Metropolitan University where The Earthshot Prize and the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales are hosting an event to celebrate the Welsh seaweed industry.
William launched the Earthshot Prize in 2020 to support climate and environmental innovators across the world. At the time, Kensington Palace called the award "the most prestigious global environment prize in history." Every year it awards £1 million each to five innovators that the charity selects based on their work toward environmental goals. Join our WhatsApp news community here for the latest breaking news
