Prince Harry has left Balmoral following the death of his grandmother the Queen.

The Duke of Sussex was seen leaving the estate at around 8.15am this morning, with the convoy passing flowers that had been laid as tributes to his late grandmother. He arrived at Balmoral at around 8pm last night, around an hour-and-a-half after Buckingham Palace announced that the 96-year-old monarch had died.

Harry and his wife Meghan were in the UK to attend a charity event yesterday. The pair were due to travel together to Scotland, but it was later decided Meghan would remain in London.

King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla are expected to leave Balmoral later today to fly back to London. The Princess Royal, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie and Prince William also rushed to the estate yesterday.

The Queen died with Charles and Anne at her bedside at Balmoral, it is believed. Her eldest children were already in Scotland at the time of the monarch's sudden turn for the worse.

The other family members and senior royals who dashed to be with her yesterday not did reach Balmoral in time before she passed. In the statement announcing the death of the Queen, Buckingham Palace wrote: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

"The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."
