Pride Cymru returns to the streets of Cardiff in full force after two-year hiatus

Pride Cymru is taking place across Cardiff as thousands of people take part in Wales’ biggest celebration of equality and diversity.

Over two days - Saturday and Sunday - three stages will be full to the brim of cabaret, musicians and panel discussions, with a selection of food vendors and a community market. Saturday will see the Pride Cymru parade return to the Welsh capital for the first time since the coronavirus outbreak. It's an event which has grown enormously since 1985, when the first gay march took place in the city.

The event has gone from strength to strength over the years - moving from Cooper’s field, the annual celebration now takes place on the City Lawns just outside the national museum and City Hall. The parade is due to start at 11am from Windsor Place, and there are a number of road closures in place throughout Saturday. You can read more about that here.
