"Price tag will have gone up" - Journalist drops Villa claim on 86-game ace who 'Grealish loves'

Aston Villa frontman Keinan Davis has increased his price tag thanks to a productive loan spell with Nottingham Forest, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Ahead of his first full season at the Villa Park helm, Steven Gerrard could use the summer transfer window to freshen up his squad.

Davis joined Championship side Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season during the early stages of the January window.

He has gone on to score five goals and register a further three assists in 19 appearances, boosting Forest’s hopes of a return to the Premier League.

Although a hamstring injury is set to keep Davis on the sidelines until the end of the regular season, it has not stopped clubs mulling over whether to head to Villa Park with a bid for his services.

According to Football Insider, Norwich City have reignited their interest in the 24-year-old, with former Villa chief Dean Smith being a ‘big admirer’.

The report suggests Forest are also keen to extend Davis’ stay at the City Ground, while loan and permanent options are on the cards due to his £25,000-per-week contract still having more than two years to run.

O’Rourke believes Davis, who is known to be loved by former Villa captain Jack Grealish, has a potentially career-defining decision to make ahead of the summer transfer window opening for business.

The journalist reckons the striker’s spell at Forest has resulted in Villa being able to pocket an even higher fee than they would have secured a matter of months ago.
