Previous Manchester United target James Maddison makes Wayne Rooney admission amid links
Leicester City star James Maddison has discussed his love for Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney after growing up as a Red.
United have previously been linked with the eye-catching playmaker after he rose to become a key man for the Foxes. Maddison has proved to be deadly from a dead-ball situation but is also known for tormenting defences with his busting runs and incisive passing.
Despite a recent dip in form for Brendan Rodgers' side, the 25-year-old has remained a pivotal figure at the King Power Stadium.
Speaking for the documentary on the Reds' all-time leading goalscorer 'Rooney', Maddison expressed his admiration for the forward after growing up watching United.

"He's one of my favourites, one of my favourites being a United fan. One of my first memories of football is a Wayne Rooney goal in Euro 2004 when he scored two against Croatia as an 18-year-old," he said.
"But, I remember my Dad picking me up and running round the table. I was only young. Wayne Rooney, I think, is the best Premier League player ever, for me."
