Preston reveal talks for Alvaro Fernandez loan from Manchester United
Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe has admitted that Alvaro Fernandez is a target after the Manchester United loanee was spotted at their pre-season friendly.
The 19-year-old was pictured in attendance at Deepdale as they welcomed Premier League opposition in the form of Leicester City. The Manchester Evening News reported on Saturday that United were planning on sending the Spaniard out on loan this summer but there was no agreement yet in place.
Fernandez was in and around the first team for the final four matches of last season, on the bench at the end of Ralf Rangnick's tenure without making a senior appearance. The left-back has attracted attention from a host of clubs with Preston firmly in the race.

United are keen to send Fernandez on loan after Tyrell Malacia was unveiled as the first signing of Erik ten Hag's tenure. Last season's U23 Player of the Year was among the youngsters that didn't travel with the Dutchman's side in anticipation of a temporary move away as Shola Shoretire, Teden Mengi and Di'Shon Bernard all missed the trip to Thailand and Australia with exits possible.
The former Real Madrid youngster watched on as Brendan Rodgers' side ran out 2-1 winners. Speaking after the defeat, Lowe said: "We've tracked Alvaro Fernandez for some time and he was here with his family today watching us play.
"Hopefully we've been good enough and he's been impressed enough for him to say yes. Until that we can't say much about it."
