Prendergast leads Ireland to T20 victory over Pakistan

Orla Prendergast shone as Ireland secured a six-wicket win against Pakistan in their T20 series opener.

After Pakistan secured a 3-0 sweep in their ODI series on Wednesday, the Irish bounced back with victory in Lahore on Saturday.

All-rounder Prendergast started the day on the right foot, taking the wickets of Muneeba Ali, Bismah Maroof and Javeria Khan en route to figures of three for 10.

Nida Dar's 61 helped Pakistan on their way to 135 for five and Ireland responded strongly.

Prendergast followed an impressive bowling stint by scoring 39 from 25 balls, with Gaby Lewis hitting 69 not out as Ireland triumphed with eight balls remaining.

Pakistan and Ireland go toe-to-toe for the final two T20s on Monday and Wednesday
