Premier Sports in shock Scottish football return as Viaplay as punters to swap channels AGAIN

Premier Sports is relaunching in the the UK from next week with Scottish football at the heart of the comeback.

The broadcaster was acquired by Viaplay Group for £30m in July 2022 but the Scandinavian network decided to change its strategy, switching focus solely on its Nordics and Dutch business, and closing down its UK operations and Premier Sports has taken control of the business again.

They will relaunch on April 9 and will show the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup as well as Scotland national team games, Spanish La Liga, United Rugby Championship, NHL and NASCAR. Premier Sports will return to Sky, Virgin, Amazon Prime and Apple, before launching an enhanced streaming service.

Customers preferring to stream can continue to use Amazon Prime while Premier Sports launch its own newly enhanced streaming service on launch. The new service will once again feature access to the two Premier Sports TV channels and LALIGATV plus access to all additional key content making it a device led hub of live sport.

Current Viaplay Sports customers will experience a transition to Premier Sports with the broadcaster insisting it will “very much business as usual”. New customers can subscribe on the new Premier Sports website from £9.99- www.premiersports.com.
