'Premier League status is in his hands' - Sky Sports man raves over 'underrated' Everton ace

Sky Sports’ Rob Palmer believes that Everton’s Premier League future lies in the hands of Jordan Pickford.

Everton and England’s number one has been a regular between the sticks at Goodison Park this season missing just two league games all campaign but with the fourth-worst save percentage in the Premier League, that may be surprising.

However, he proved his worth yesterday against Manchester United when he picked up only his fifth clean sheet of the entire season while making four saves, with two very impressive ones to deny Marcus Rashford and keep the Toffees’ survival hopes intact.

Palmer believes that Pickford is an underrated and underappreciated goalkeeper and the Sky Sports man went one step further to claim that the club’s ‘Premier League status is in his hands.’

TIF Thoughts on Pickford…

There is a reason why Pickford has been the undisputed number one for both club and country for so many years now, his managers see him as a reliable keeper over the course of a long season, or when it really matters for his nationals side.

Everton have struggled for clean sheets and defensive solidity this season, so Palmer’s claim that the Toffees’ future lies in the hands of Pickford is not an outlandish point to make at all, given how well the club will need him to play to try and win them points on his own, much like he did yesterday against Man United.
