Premier League 2022/2023 predicted table as Newcastle United set for big improvement

It's not been long since the conclusion of the 2022/2023 season - a season in which Newcastle United rose from almost certain relegation to a comfortable 11th-placed finish. The appointment of Eddie Howe as manager and a near-£90 million January window did more than their fair share to help the Magpies, who picked up the fourth most points in the league during the second-half of the campaign.

This summer is set to be a busy one at St James' Park in terms of incomings and outgoings as those in charge look to bolster the squad with European-level talent. A combination of such a strong second-half of the season and the inevitable big-money summer has Newcastle as many people's pick to improve the most next season - and the bookies look to agree with the majority, citing Howe's boys as the biggest jumpers in their Premier League outright odds.

Here is the predicted 2022/2023 Premier League table based on those odds.

Unsurprising, given how dominant they looked last season and the reinforcements due over the summer. Pipped Liverpool to the title last season and were a striker short of a perfect team.

Well now they’ve got arguably the best number nine in the world in Erling Haaland and have no clear weaknesses, making them odds on to make it five titles in six seasons.

The Reds are the only side who have come anywhere close to City over the last few seasons, and put together a 19-game unbeaten run to take it to the final day.

Look likely to strengthen with the arrival of 26-goal Darwin Nunez this summer but could lose Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich.

The gap between Chelsea and the top two says it all, as Thomas Tuchel’s side ended last season 19 points off the champions.
