Prediction for Rangers vs Napoli: Ibrox crowd can roar Gers to first Champions League points

Check out our 1/1 prediction for Rangers vs Napoli below

You get the feeling that if Rangers are going to make any sort of impact in Champions League Group A then it's going to be at Ibrox so Wednesday's clash with Serie A leaders Napoli will tell us a good deal about the Gers European prospects.

However, the in-form Italians are going to be an incredibly tough nut for Rangers to crack, so much so that the hosts are as big as 3/1 with Betway to come away with the points. The visitors are odds-on pokes (5/6) to bag another three Group A points.

And with good reason. Rangers were outclassed in Amsterdam, albeit against a strong Ajax side, mustering just a single shot on target in the 90 minutes. Ajax were totally dominant (75% possession) but Rangers should see more of the ball against a Napoli side that do give up chances, for all their class. The big question is - do Rangers have it in them to cash in on them chances?

The Gers come into this on the back of two chastening defeats in big games and there has to be a concern that they are not in good place mentally. However, they will be lifted by a packed a raucous Ibrox crowd that will do everything they can to carry their side over the line and Rangers have tended to lift themselves for the big European nights when it's been needed over the last 18 months.

Napoli cashed in on some particularly poor defending but still gave up
