Predicted Arsenal team to face Everton: Arteta poised to unleash attacking threat Martinelli from the off

Arsenal put themselves right in the mix to finish in the Champions League places this season. From the back end of April through to May, they went on a four-game winning streak, taking out some of their closest competition.

First, they beat third-placed Chelsea 4-2. The Gunners then went on to beat Manchester United 3-1 in the following fixture.

West Ham were the next side to taste defeat at the hands of Mikel Arteta’s side when Arsenal beat them 2-1. The Gunners then defeated Leeds United to extend their winning streak.

However, Tottenham who had also been on a fine streak of their own put a stop to Arsenal’s run. Spurs thumped Arsenal 3-0 and put themselves in the driver’s seat for fourth place.

The Gunners then suffered another setback, as mid-table Newcastle United beat them 2-0 at St. James’ Park.

Arteta kept his cards close to his chest regarding his selection for the final match against Everton. However, Takehiro Tomiyasu is set to miss out following an injury in the last match.

Aaron Ramsdale started in net. The two centre-back positions were filled by the usual partnership of Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes.

Tomiyasu – who picked up an injury and was replaced by Cedric Soares – started at right-back, with Nuno Tavares at left-back.

The holding-midfield pair was Granit Xhaka – who was vocal about his team’s poor performance – and Mohamed Elneny.

Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard played with Emile Smith Rowe behind the striker.

Eddie Nketiah once again started up top as he has for the past seven games.
