Power struggle in Sudan: Civilians caught in crossfire as security forces battle it out

As soldiers and civilians re-negotiate the peaceful transition promised after the ouster of longtime strongman Omar al-Bashir in 2019, we take a look at the rivalry between the head of the military and the powerful RSA paramilitary force - borne of the Janjawid militia that wreaked havoc in Darfur – as well as their backers.
