Potential AFC Bournemouth and Fulham transfer boost emerges on 25 y/o

Premier League outfit Newcastle United are unlikely to recruit Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson this summer despite being heavily linked with a move, according to a report from The Telegraph.

The 25-year-old could potentially leave Old Trafford this summer after continuing to find himself behind David De Gea in the pecking order at Old Trafford, meaning he made just three competitive appearances for the Red Devils during the 2021/22 campaign.

Despite this lack of first-team opportunities to shine, he isn’t short of interest with AFC Bournemouth and Fulham both reported to be monitoring the Englishman’s situation ahead of the summer window.

It was even revealed that United were weighing up moves for Newcastle’s Karl Darlow and Watford’s Daniel Bachmann, increasing speculation regarding Henderson’s future with both interested sides potentially needing to address their goalkeeping situation in the coming months.

Marco Silva’s side have already been linked with numerous goalkeepers in recent times including Nick Pope and Thomas Strakosha, though the former’s £40m price tag may force the Cottagers out of the race if Burnley are unwilling to lower his valuation.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, will need another first-team option after seeing former loanee Freddie Woodman return to Newcastle United, failing to make any real impact at the Vitality Stadium during his short time on the south coast.

And both have been boosted by this latest report that the Magpies aren’t pursuing a move for the 25-year-old, even though they look set to address their goalkeeping area this summer.
