Antony and three more signings will give Erik ten Hag two dream Manchester United line-ups

Manchester United have yet to complete any business during the summer transfer window - but supporters could be in for a treat if Erik ten Hag lands his top targets.

Having missed out on a central midfielder last summer, key figures in the Old Trafford boardroom have made that a clear priority for the Ten Hag rebuild and talks are progressing with Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona over a would-be £75million-plus switch. United also want to sign a new centre-back and a versatile attacking option.

Ajax starlets Jurrien Timber and Antony - both well known to Ten Hag from his successful reign in Amsterdam - are on the radar in that respect. Christian Eriksen is another high-profile target.

Of course, the Denmark playmaker is available on a free transfer this summer after his short-term deal at Brentford came to an end. Brentford have made an offer to effectively re-sign Eriksen, while former club Tottenham have also registered an interest in him.

Beyond those items on the agenda, United expect Dean Henderson to move to Nottingham Forest on loan and, as such, have eyed up Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann as a potential replacement. It comes after Henderson did not make a single Premier League appearance last season.

If they do manage to snap up their top targets, United will then have to draw up a master plan of how to put those pieces together. It will present Ten Hag with serious questions to answer - such as how will he be able to deploy Bruno Fernandes and Eriksen in the same team?
