Possession lost 85x: "Non-existent" £38k-p/w Leeds dud who's "too soft" must be axed - opinion

Leeds United found themselves on the wrong side of another Premier League result as they lost 1-0 to Leicester at the weekend.

Harvey Barnes scored the only goal of the game as Jesse Marsch ended his first match in charge of the club with a defeat at the King Power Stadium.

The Whites are 16th in the division on 23 points and have played more games than both Burnley and Everton below them

They also have the worst defensive record in the league with 61 conceded so far, with Norwich’s 58 the closest to them in that department.

One player who has been a liability at the back and played a role in their horrific tally of goals conceded is centre-back Robin Koch.

The former Freiburg man has averaged a dismal SofaScore rating of 6.54 in the Premier League, which places him 22nd in the Leeds squad overall. This shows that he has been consistently disappointing at the back throughout the campaign as he has been unable to turn in strong performances.

Football Insider previously claimed that a source from inside the club feels that he is “too soft” for the English top-flight due to his lack of aerial ability. He has lost 53% of his aerial duels throughout the season so far, winning 2.3 per game for Leeds, which suggests that the previous comment was fair as he has lost the majority – albeit just – of his battles when going for headers.

The £38k-per-week dud was also dubbed “non-existent” by Clinton Morrison earlier this season as he was deployed in central midfield against Everton alongside Mateusz Klich and Adam Forshaw. This shows that he has struggled in multiple positions this term, with the German unable to impress at centre-back or in the middle of the park.

As per SofaScore, he has given possession away 85 times in his ten
