Portsmouth's Michael Jacobs Pulls Off 'Diving Header Nutmeg Pass' vs Charlton, It's Genuinely Unbelievable
Charlton went on to secure all three points after goals from Conor Washington and Clark Robertson [OG] sealed a 2-1 win but one shining light was the performance of Jacobs, who managed to get himself on the scoresheet.
After appearing to slip over on the wet surface, Jacobs somehow managed to get his head to a pass before nutmegging the Charlton defender - all while being sprawled on the ground.
It could well be one of the passes of the season - even if it was a tad fortunate. Here is another angle of that outrageous moment.
Portsmouth boss Danny Cowley explained after the full-time whistle that a recent illness with coronavirus prevented Jacobs from starting against Charlton.
“Michael has been isolating so he hasn’t been able to train,” said Cowley.
“He trained yesterday (Sunday) but it wasn’t possible to play him from the beginning. It just feels like for Michael, every time he gets going, something goes against him.
“He’s been excellent and been impacting the team for many weeks now. Hopefully, we can get a good week of training in next week and he’ll be available for us on Saturday.
“He would’ve played off the back of the Sunderland game. He’s done enough to warrant a start and he would’ve played and it’s just unfortunate that he wasn’t able to train all of last week.”
