Portsmouth player close to exit with League One side circling

Portsmouth could be about to let Alex Bass leave the club, with D3D4 reporting that Exeter are close to sealing a deal for the shot-stopper.

The 24-year-old has fallen down the pecking order with Pompey and is unlikely to feature too often if he stays on at Fratton Park.

That should open the door for the player to potentially leave the side during this summer window – and it appears Exeter are ready to pounce for the goalkeeper. They’re preparing for a new League One campaign and feel that Bass could be what they need inbetween the sticks to help them push on.

He’s certainly experienced at League One level, having played for Portsmouth a handful of times in the third tier. He managed only two league outings for them in the 2021/22 campaign but played in a further 15 games in 2019/20.
