Port Vale fans highlight individual performances in Bolton draw

Port Vale bounced back from defeats to Exeter and Rotherham in the last week to battle out a goalless draw at home to Bolton. The visitors were reduced to ten men when Ricardo Santos was sent off on 37 minutes, but are one of the favourites for promotion. So, how should we assess this performance? Over to Vale fans for their say.

"After last week, this was a vast improvement. The squad, sorry, group is where it should have been three weeks ago in terms of fitness and recruitment, more-or-less League One ready with a couple of final jigsaw pieces to fit in. The price of promotion via the play-offs, I suppose.

"For a 0-0 draw the match was very entertaining, helped by the antics of less-than-saintly Ricardo Santos. He could have been booked again shortly after being shown the yellow card for further corner-kick shenanigans but it was a good job he wasn't as he made a vital goal-line clearance for the Vale following yet another corner.

"After his sending-off it might have been expected to be easier for the Vale. Bolton reorganised to deny space for the Vale forwards which might have been there at 11 v 11. Gavin Massey, along with Jack Stevens and Ellis Harrison look decent signings so I am expecting better things now."

: "I would have taken a point before the game, we were just lacking in the final third. It was nice to see their number 17 (Oladapo Afolayan) went off at half time, great player on the ball. Keep up the hard work boys."
