Popular Indian to open second Manchester restaurant on site of ill-fated pasta eatery

A Delhi-inspired modern Indian kitchen will be opening in the former Rigatonis venue in Ancoats next week.

Indian Affair, which already has a bustling restaurant on Barlow Moor Road in Chorlton, will be opening its second site within Cutting Room Square - which will mark the area’s first ever Indian restaurant.

Owned by husband and wife, Harshit and Natasha Chopra, the new restaurant will focus on Indian small plates as well as dishes inspired by the couple’s favourite flavours from back home in Delhi.

Opening two years after the launch of their Chorlton restaurant, Harshit and Natasha said they have been eyeing up locations for their second site. “We always dreamed about opening a city centre restaurant,” Harshit explained.

“Cutting Room Square has a community like no other, we felt it was the perfect space for a modern Indian restaurant.”

Every dish on the menu has been hand-selected by Harshit and Natasha, and will also include a range of thalis - a popular round platter usually consisting of rice, dal and vegetables, and will be available in vegan, vegetarian and meat options.

Encouraging guests to tuck into the food family-style, small plates will be priced between £5 and £13 and will include popular favourites like chicken tikka samosa, spinach fritters drizzled with yoghurt, tamarind & mint chutney, chargrilled lamb chops, and tandoori king prawns in garlic and garam masala.

The menu also features biryanis, fluffy
