Pope Francis remains in hospital, clinical conditions complex
Pope Francis would remain in hospital, his clinical condition is complex, the Holy See’s news service said on Monday.
On Friday, after the end of his morning audiences, the Pope went to Gremelli Hospital in Rome for diagnostic tests and treatment for bronchitis, the Holy See said.
“The results of tests conducted in recent days and today revealed a polymicrobial infection of the respiratory tract, which led to further modification of therapy.
“All the examinations conducted to date indicate a complex clinical condition that will require hospital treatment,’’ the report said.
