Poll: Which Celtic player will follow in the footsteps of Vasilis Barkas?

Celtic’s transfer window business for season 2022/23 really begin in earnest earlier this week when goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas moved to FC Utrecht on loan.

The player’s exit, even on a temporary basis isn’t that much of a shock, as he has been on the fringes of the Hoops first-team over the last year, and his chances of first-team football at Celtic are slim and none.

You have to think that Barkas won’t be the only player to leave Celtic on loan between now and when the summer transfer window closes.

We will take a look at some of the other players in the first-team squad that could leave the Hoops on a temporary basis, and vote in our poll as to who is the most likely to leave.

One player who seems certain to exit the Hoops is Boli Bolingoli. He hasn’t featured for the side in months, and he was meant to join Russian side FC Ufa on loan, before the deal was cancelled.

It would be a shock if Bolingoli played for the Hoops first-team again, and will surely be leaving the club over the next few months.

Ismaila Soro is another player that could be a candidate for heading out on loan. He is a player that is out of favour, as Celtic have so many midfielders in the squad, and it doesn’t look like he will get a run of games in the Hoops first-team anytime soon.

One attacking player that could leave the Hoops on loan is maybe Mikey Johnston. The Hoops already have a number of wingers in the squad, and if Jota signs up for Celtic on a permanent deal, that will limit Johnston’s chances of regular football.

A loan move for the player could be just what he needs to get his career back on track.

Could Christopher Jullien leave the Hoops on loan? It was notable that he didn’t feature at all for the Hoops in the last few months of the
