Police storm gym and arrest 23-year-old woman

A woman was arrested after police raided a gym in Hindley as part of a drug supply probe.

Officers raided the gym on Lowe Mill Lane yesterday morning (Monday) after 'they 'received intelligence from the local community'. The 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class C drugs.

She has since been released under investigation while police continue to carry out enquiries. Officers recovered a 'number of evidential items' from the scene.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation in the local area is being urged to come forward. Inspector Adam Wall from GMP’s Wigan district, said: "Following intelligence received from the local community, we have acted on their concerns and conducted a warrant as well as being in the early part of our investigation.

"A number of evidential items were recovered from the scene and are being examined but I would like to thank members of the public for their information as well as urge others to come forward if they have any detail that may help with our enquiries.

"This can be done by calling 0161 856 1602 direct, 101 or anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting incident 336 of 25/09/2023. This serves as a continued message that we do take all reports seriously and where possible, will act on them."
