Police saw down door and raid shop in Chorlton before man arrested
Police were seen sawing down the metal shutters of a shop in Chorlton before raiding the property on Tuesday (February 4).
Officers and TAU teams were in attendance in the centre of the suburb, on Wilbraham Road, at around 12.30pm. Officers could be seen breaking into the property using a saw before raiding the inside.
A man was arrested on suspicion of immigration-related offences and was taken into custody. Further details about the incident have not yet been confirmed.
Investigations are ongoing. The man remains in custody to be questioned in relation to the alleged offences, police said.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Today, officers from Chorlton Neighbourhood team along with the Neighbourhood Crime Team, executed a warrant at an address in Chorlton Town Centre.
"One male was arrested on suspicion of immigration related offences and is currently in custody. Further enquires are ongoing."
