Police looking for these men after fights break out and goalkeeper pushed at Oldham Athletic v Chesterfield match

Police have released pictures of men they are looking for after chaos unfolded at a football match between Oldham Athletic and Chesterfield FC.

Fans invaded the pitch at the SMH Group Stadium, in Chesterfield, towards the end of the game on August 19. Police said fights also broke out 'between a small number of spectators in the ground' while a 'goalkeeper was pushed'.

A 36-year-old man, from Oldham, was previously arrested 'on suspicion of football offences' then bailed. Officers at Derbyshire Police, who are working with Greater Manchester Police, have now released pictures of nine males they are trying to track down.

Anyone who recognises them is being urged to get in touch. Police said previously that CCTV footage from the from the day of the match - which finished 1-1 - was being reviewed.

A Derbyshire Police spokesperson said: "Officers investigating a pitch invasion and disorder at the Chesterfield FC v Oldham Athletic match In August have issued images of people they would like to trace in connection with the incident.

“The game saw reports of fighting between a small number of spectators inside the ground, a pitch incursion and a goalkeeper being pushed. We are continuing to work with officers at Greater Manchester Police as part of the investigation.

"Do you recognise any of the men in the images? If so, please contact us on the details below quoting reference 23*523339 and the number on the image (number 8 is missing)."
