Police closed M4 stretch over welfare concern for woman
Police closed a part of the M4 on Monday night as officers attended the scene concerned for the welfare of a woman on a bridge over junction 28.
Gwent Police closed the M4 westbound, between junction 28 and 29, and Forge Road, between Tredegar House roundabout and Bassaleg, as they brought the woman to safety.
There was major rush hour disruption as the incident played out, with all traffic temporarily held. Drivers were advised to avoid the area where possible and find alternative routes.
