Police arrest second man on suspicion of murdering nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel

Police have arrested a second man on suspicion of the murder of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel. The 33-year-old man was arrested by armed police in Dovecot, Merseyside this afternoon.

He was also held on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder, and is set to be questioned by detectives, the Liverpool Echo reports. A 36-year-old man was previously arrested on suspicion of murder and two counts of attempted murder yesterday.

The schoolgirl was shot dead in her own home in Dovecot on Monday night, after a man burst through her front door. A gunman had been targeting two men at around 10pm.

Olivia's mother Cheryl opened her door to see what was happening, before one of the targets barged into her home. The gunman opened fire with and hit Cheryl in the arm, before hitting her daughter who was stood behind her mother.

The gunman shot the man before fleeing. An Audi appeared at the scene and took the man to hospital, leaving Olivia and her mum at the house.

Olivia was rushed to hospital but sadly died. Paying tribute to the schoolgirl, her family said Olivia was 'adored by everyone'.

They said: "Liv was a unique chatty, nosey little girl who broke the mould when she was born. She loved life and all it had to offer. "Liv loved dressing up and was very particular on how she was dressed, like any other little girl she loved doing her makeup and nails, she was nine going on 19.

"Liv was adored by everyone who knew her and would instantly make friends with anyone and everyone. She was often seen going up and down the street on her new bike she had just got for her birthday. Although her life was short, her personality certainly
