Police appeal after driver left with serious injuries in crash involving two cars

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a serious collision in Poynton last week.

Emergency service crews were scrambled to London Road South around 9.15pm last Friday (July 21). The smash involved two vehicles, police say, a green Vauxhall Corsa and a black Toyota Yaris.

The Toyota driver, a 27-year-old man, was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary with a leg fracture following the incident and remains there. His injuries are considered serious but not life threatening, police say.

Police Constable Julie Cook, of Cheshire's Roads and Crime Unit, said: "As part of our investigation, we are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. The same goes for anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage which may aid our enquiries.

"Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via the website quoting IML-1602199."

Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
