Plymouth Argyle could seal swoop for 21-year-old Fulham man

Plymouth Argyle could be set for a transfer deadline day swoop for Fulham’s Steven Sessegnon, as reported by talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.

The League One side have been involved in a promotion push in the third tier this year despite losing boss Ryan Lowe and the addition of someone like Sessegnon could be a real boost to them for the second half of the season.

The 21-year-old has never played below Championship level as of yet and after doing some solid work for both his current club Fulham and Bristol City, he could certainly make the drop down to Plymouth with ease – and could be a real force for them if a deal is agreed.

Any agreement would only see the youngster join Argyle on a deal until the end of the season though, with the Cottagers not letting the player leave on a permanent basis. This will also be a blow to Hull, who had also been considering a bid for the player according to this report from Alex Crook.

The Tigers themselves have been trying to strengthen for a completely different reason, with the side locked in a relegation battle. However, it appears Sessegnon will take on the challenge of a promotion bid rather than a relegation fight.

Having not yet featured for Fulham in the league so far this season, it should be a win-win for both the 21-year-old and his parent club, with the player able to get more regular gametime and the Cottagers allowing him to develop elsewhere while there is currently no room for him in their starting eleven.

Steven Sessegnon could be an exceptional signing for Plymouth, even if it is only until the end of the season. It is a signing that should surely excite Argyle fans and is exactly the type of deal they should be pursuing.
