PLAYER RATINGS: Robertson stars for Liverpool while Gordon impresses

Liverpool moved to within one point of Manchester City in the Premier League title race with a 2-0 win over Everton.

Andrew Robertson and Divock Origi both got on the scoresheet as the Reds put the pressure back on City while the Toffees slipped into the relegation zone.

LIVERPOOL (4-3-3)

Alisson Becker – One miscued punch apart, dealt with whatever came his way with the minimum of fuss – 7

Trent Alexander-Arnold – Unusually out of sorts and booked for a wild challenge on Gordon in the second half – 6

Joel Matip – Can consider himself fortunate that VAR did not get involved when he pushed Gordon in the back, otherwise accomplished – 7

Fabinho – Like most of his team-mates, out of sorts in the first half but cooled down after the break when it mattered – 7

Thiago Alcantara – Was on the ball an awful lot; effective but didn’t have the same impact as he had done against Manchester United – 7

Mohamed Salah – Grew into the game and his second half performance was outstanding, not least his assist for Robertson – 8

Diogo Jota – Involved in a running battle with Seamus Coleman at times, did well to hear Robertson’s shout for the opening goal – 6.5

Sadio Mane – Booked for jabbing a finger at Mason Holgate, substituted after tiring in the second half – 6

Subs: Origi (for Mane 60mins, 8), Diaz (for Keita 60mins, 7.5), Henderson (for
