Plans for new adult club with 'dogging room' close to primary school

Concerned residents backed by their MP have expressed concern over plans to open an adult club complete with a 'dogging room and dungeon' just yards away from a primary school.

Advertisements have appeared online for GG's Lounge, signalling the apparent intention to start operating at a premises on Church Street in Runcorn, Cheshire, not far from Runcorn All Saints C of E Primary School.

In a now deleted website post screenshotted by concerned residents, the club offers membership for single men priced at £50 for six months, and ‘couples' membership’ priced at £50 for a year. It promises ‘play rooms’, a couples’ only room, ‘dogging room' sauna and a ‘dungeon’.

The online advertisement, first reported by the Local Democracy Reporting Service, said: “Indulge in a world of adult entertainment like no other at GGs Lounge, the Liverpool Echo reports.

“Our exclusive club in the heart of Runcorn, Cheshire, offers a sophisticated and intimate atmosphere for you to relax and unwind. It is the ultimate destination for adult entertainment enthusiasts.”

Members are invited to ‘bring their own booze’ and it has an age limit of 25, with single males told they must have photo ID. It also says it has a ‘no means no’ policy.

East Runcorn MP Mike Amesbury was contacted by a constituent about the plans and said he shared the constituent’s concerns. In a response, he said: "I have brought this to the attention of Stephen Young, Chief Executive of Halton Borough Council and asked him to investigate further and provide me with a response."
